The Miliana Group's vessels under Technical Ship Management are prepared to counteract, contain and clean up oil spills. Vessel crews have the indispensable spill response equipment, qualifications and skills.
Periodic oil spill drills are organised to improve the skills of ship, platform and shore service crews and to coordinate the actions of the participants. Various exercise scenarios are carried out jointly with the Maritime Authority and SAR; their purpose are to do the following:
- check the effectiveness and efficiency of the ship's crews and shore base personnel at risk, exchange of information,
- check the quality of communications and communication systems,
- check the oil spill control equipment and system,
- improve rescue operations.
